Mustard is so easy to make that it almost feels like cheating to give homemade mustard as a gift. And yet, people are always impressed and appreciative - "You made mustard?!"
Seriously, mustard making is as simple as assemble and wait. It takes about 5 minutes to assemble the ingredients, and a couple of days for the flavors to harmonize.
You can start out with a basic mustard recipe, and then come up with infinite variations. The two that I made today are Spicy Beer Mustard (yummy on hotdogs) and White Wine - Tarragon Mustard (fantastic in potato salad and also great with poultry).
Got 5 minutes? Make some mustard. Make enough to give some away...but maybe don't let the recipients know how easy it was!
