For some people, sweet relish on their hot dogs is a must (I am one of them). It's also a tasty ingredient in deviled eggs, and essential for traditional American picnic and BBQ sides such as potato and macaroni salads.
Classic Sweet Relish, also called hot dog relish, is usually made with cucumber as its main ingredient. That version will always be excellent, but for those deviled eggs and salads I mentioned I prefer the sunny colors of Red Pepper & Cucumber Relish.
As summer progresses and your zucchini plants get out of control (as they always seem to do), make Sweet Zucchini Relish. It is almost identical in flavor to the cucumber version, and a great use-up for all those zukes.
Give a jar to that neighbor who left their extra zucchinis on your doorstep last year (just kidding, but you might do a good deed by sharing the recipe with them).
