I've got lots of different kinds of winter squash including pumpkin saved up from last year's crops. Winter squash keeps pretty well, but it's already been a few months since the harvest. How to preserve the abundance so that it doesn't go to waste?

Short term, chips. I love potato chips and all kinds of chips, but the greasy, deep fried versions aren't something I want to have in my home all the time (because I will eat the whole bag, whether I meant to or not).

Dehydrated butternut squash chips, or the oven - dried version, satisfy my desire for a crunchy, salty treat but are much healthier.

My favorite long - term method for preserving winter squash is to freeze it, but you do have to cook it first for best results.
