What to Do With Turnips

fermented turnips

We got turnips from my community supported agriculture (CSA) farm share three weeks in a row. I like turnips, and these were a lovely Japanese variety with a gentle flavor. But I couldn't keep up.

I didn't want to waste them, though. My solution was to turn some of them into Sauerruben (fermented turnip pickle) and dry the rest for future soups and mashes.

I'm caught up on the turnip abundance. If we get more in our CSA share this week, I'll probably just eat them right away!

Helloo !
I was so glad to find this site on one of my Health information letters from an American doctor… Dr. Blaylock. And as I was looking thro it.. I saw the word Turnips ! and this is the first time Ive ever seen any cooking or preserving information on this marvellous vegetable…

Thanks for all the free info… I ve only known about baked turnips in the oven or boiling and mashing them with potatoes…
